NFLL NEWS & UPDATES

First I would like to welcome back Mr. DK back to the league for the 2008 season. "indigopalmssucks" will be replacing the team that replaced him in '07 "HEART of a LION". As a result IPSux will be drafting 4th overall in the league. In the 2006 season, IPSux finished in 6th place in the regular season (8-5) and 8th place overall in the playoffs (0-3) .
Secondly, the league registration form will be going out "soon". Please make sure that you fill it out and get it to me ASAP. League dues will be due July 1. Changes will be that the league will run about $50 per team, with packages up to $75. Examples of the more expensive packages will be for teams that will be doing their draft by computer, teams optioning the purchasing of a 23rd round pick, and other weekly sidepots that only those that pay will be eligible for. This will all be explained in the forms that will be mailed out soon. As far as prize money goes we will have at least a $350 pot for the winner(along with a Flask), the ever-popular bounty prize will be back with 13 $10 prizes. The division winners and the team with the highest scoring offense in a game will also be eligible for a $25 prize.
Next, I would like to point out a few of the changes in the scoring for next season. Although the exact amounts have yet to be decided here is what is being proposed. ..again these are estimates.
RB pts per carry(.1) will be increasing to .2 to .25
RB yards per points (20) will be decreasing to 15 yards
RB bonus points for 150 yard game (1) will be increasing to 3
WR pts per rec. (1) will be decreasing to .5 to .75
WR bonus points for 150 yard game (1) will be increasing to 3
QB pts per comp. (1) will be decreasing to .5
QB pts per inc. (-.5) will be decreasing to -.25
QB pts per pass TD (6) will be decreasing to 3 to 4
QB pts per interception (-2) will be increasing to -3 to -4
QB pts per sack (-2) will be decreasing to -1
QB bonus points for 350 yard game (1) will be increasing to 3
DL pts per sack (2) will be increasing to 3
DB pts per sack (2) will be increasing to 3
Also new this year will be compensatory picks for injured 1st rounders. Still flirting with the idea of 2nd rounders but basically this would help teams whose 1st round pick suffers season ending injury to be compensated picks in the upcoming draft. (Picks are yet to be determined) Compensatory picks have always been allowed for trading picks and obviously there are criteria and exceptions but this would help add a new aspect.
