New NFLL news 6/14/08

VSOP

You now have to register to reserve a seat for the next game. Click on your name on the right if you want to join the game on Saturday 6/28/08. It is too difficult to try to coordinate and get people to respond, so it is your responsibility to reserve a spot if you want to play. Also with this method you will be able to know who is in or out.

Once again, congrats to Allen (1st bracelet) and Jason who had an exciting finish last saturday.

Ok so we got mixed reviews about the increase of the buy-in and only paying out the top 2. So I am looking for feedback. I know there are some out there that play the game for the fortune and glory, and there are those that like to use it as a beer drinking event. So I am proposing a schedule of mixed events that would also have a range in buy-in amounts. A freeze-out (FO) tourney is what we regularly play, a shoot-out (SO) tourney is a multi-table event where the winner of each table face each other for the prize. A heads-up (HU) tourney is where 2 players play against each other in a bracket style tournament. Dealers choice (DC) is where the dealer picks the game. A cash game (CG) has no minimum buy-in. You can sit at the table with as little or as much as you want, and you can re-buy or leave the table at anytime.

$25 Hold ’em FO – top 3 paid

$20 Hold ‘em FO (bracelet event) – top 2 paid

$10 Hold ‘em FO – top 2 paid

$10 Hold’ em FO – winner take all

$20 Hold ‘em SO – top 2 paid

$20 HU Hold ‘em – winner take all

$CG Dealers Choice

$CG Hold ‘em

$50 Hold ‘em FO (main event) – top 3 paid *(Only a proposed amount)

Also we will be moving towards using standard denominations and colors. Hopefully for the next event we will be using the red (5), green (25), black (100) and pink (500). I no longer see the need for using both a 25 chip and a 50 chip, I feel it delays the game and it also makes extra work when we need to “color up”.

Please respond to the post or to me. It doesn’t do us any good if you guys are reading the posts and not submitting your opinions. What I want to hear is if this is a good or bad idea? Higher or lower buy-ins? More bracelet evets? Higher buy-ins should have more vsop points involved??? What types of games/tourneys do you want to play? Cash games or buy-ins? SPEAK UP!!!

* $Hail-Mary$ is now shopping the 3rd overall pick and is looking to move down. Anybody that is interested should post an offer or reply to me.
* Trade - KILLA CALI sends pick #330 to HaTeRs for cash considerations.
* The Jim/Outlaw franchise will be called the Quasimofo's.

* Awaiting confirmation but Monkeys is sending picks 27,59,91 and 123 to HaTeRs for #18,50 and 82. Confirmation needs to be recieved by 6/16/08 9:00pm.
* I am pondering the issue of swapping team ownership. I am looking for a GM that gets involved, by posting and by vocal input and by full participation. Local teams are preferable for the draft and participation issues. So I am considering on buying team Imua_808 out. $Hail-Mary$ and Imua are the same household so I am asking that they can share a franchise to keep them both involved and allowed to participate. I believe Jordan will be a good addition to the league. I know he regularly checks the site, will go the extra mile and is willing to pay a premium either to the league or the old GM.
* Now, the poll isn't over and I appreciate those that took the time to vote as we can already see what direction people want the trade issue to go. If you know somebody that hasn't voted make sure they do. Believe it or not, your opinion counts.

EVERY NFLL TEAM NEEDS TO VOTE ON THE POLL!
