PLAYOFF PREVIEW (Round 1)

NFLL
Congrats to the elite eight, playoffs is quite the accomplishment in this league. Not to mention that  any season is successful when HaTeRs isnt in it...am I right?  A close race going into week 13, we had 8 teams finish over .500, three less than last year.  Last season we were unable to get a 10 win team for the first time ever, nice to see Agency get us out that slump.   Cocoon's division looking tough, as they get all 4 members into the playoffs. At the halfway point if you told me Dandies, Six, Jeru and Haters would be out of the playoffs I would've bet the house on it. Tough season for you four but keep your heads up. As usual there will be no payouts until the season is over and all stats and point reviews are final...don't even bother asking. To make matters worse for you all, unfortunately the commish will not be in Vegas for most of December and will not be returning until mid-January.  And with the start of the spring semester, I will be pretty tied up when I get back.  So my decision is to get-together for Super Bowl (Sun Feb 3rd) and do the flask presentation and payouts then. Yes, Feb 3rd...again don't bother asking.
December is a bitch for me, I hope to be able to do one more power ranking/preview next week but just in case I can't, I hope you all enjoyed the 2012 season.  Also just in case, please remember that the draft order will be announced again during half-time of the super bowl. If you do not plan on returning for whatever reason, please let me know asap.  Thanks again.

Good luck to you all this week!  Except Hail...

#1 The Agency (10-3) 130 ppg vs. #8 True Sole (7-6)
The Agency comes into his third post-season, this time as the #1 seed, he finished as #1 in the power rankings and in the coaches poll.  Looking for his first ever playoff victory, the match-up couldn't be sweeter.   Agency is the second highest scoring team in the league with a 142.7 ppg. A solid well-rounded team led by RG3. His strengths are his WR corp (Bryant, Decker & Smith) and his RB duo of Lynch & Leshoure.  Sole on the other hand has his work cut-out for him as only once has a #8 seed scored an upset in the previous 9 years of play.  Sole brings with him the lowest ppg (118.7) of the playoff teams.  Led by the duo of Newton and Luck, Sole's strength lies in his defense.  These two met in week 8, a 40 pt upset for TS.
TA- last appearance #8 in 2010 (1st rd) (key wins- IP & BM /key losses TS, BE)
TS- last appearance #3 in 2009 (semi's)  (key wins- TA, CO, IP / key losses BEx2, CO, IP, HM KC)

#2 Blind Monkeys (9-4)
vs. #7 IndigoPalmsSucks (7-6)
No playoffs is complete with out Monkeys, he comes in as the #2 seed this year.  Monkeys is 6-2 all-time in the post-season.   He comes in as the third highest scoring team with a 139.6ppg. Another well put together all-around team, he is led by Brady and AP as well as a nice compliment of WR's.  The most surprising fact however, Monkeys does not have any wins vs any teams in the top 8. Hate to say it, but  9-4 in a soft division means you still have a lot to prove...Get it done.
IP comes in on a slump dropping 3 of the last 4 contests. His 123ppg has him as the seventh highest ppg in the post-season. Led by a trio of QB's, IP's strength lies in his WR corp of Johnson, Green and Boldin.
BM- last appearance #7 in 2010 (semis) (key wins-         / key losses HM, TA)
IP- last appearance #7 in 2009 (1st rd)  (key wins- HM, KC split vs CO,BE,TS /key losses TA)

#3 Buckeyes (9-4) vs. #6 Cocoon of Horror (7-6)
Buckeyes comes into this post-season and is undoubtedly the hottest team in the league right now.  He is on a 5 game winning streak and has the sixth highest ppg in the postseason with 134.3.  He also may have the most impressive resume with 7 wins vs playoff teams this year.  These two met twice in the regular season and split the series. This is Buckeyes 8th playoff appearance in the NFLL.  Buckeyes is a balanced team that relies on a strong defense and the play of Arian Foster and Brandon Marshall, the biggest question on everybody's mind is, will Jay Cutler lead him to his first ever flask?
Cocoon at 7-6 has been up and down all year but has been on the up as he has won 3 of the last 4.  His 134.7ppg has him ranked 5th of the elite eight.  Another solid team led by Fitzpatrick and his RB duo of Morris and Turner. This is Cocoons 5th post-season appearance and he is looking to revenge last years first round upset.
BE- last appearance #5 in 2010 (1st rd)  (key wins- TSx2, HM, TA,KC /key loses split CO & BE)
CO- last appearance #2 in 2010 (1st rd) (key wins- HM, split IP,BE,TS / key losses  KC)

#4 Killa Cali (8-5) vs. #5 $Hail-Mary$ (7-6)
Unfortunately, this is the third year in a  row these two now meet in the 1st round.  Unquestionably the leagues longest running and most heated rivalry. This weeks game will be the 9th meeting of these teams in just the past 3 seasons.  KC holds the advantage during that period at 5-3, however this year they did split the 2012 series.  Killa is making his league leading 9th playoff appearance, and his 5th straight.  KC is 6-2 all time in the first round and is looking to revenge last years first round loss and stop Hail's quest for back-to-back titles. KC comes into the contest with the #1 scoring team with 143.6 ppg.  A team that relies on offense is led by Stafford, the RB duo of McCoy and Richardson and WR's Johnson and Jones.
Hail in the post-season for the 4th time in a row.  As usual Hail's team relies on a strong running game (Martin & Ridley), this year however Matt Ryan is at the helm and he has been the true powerhouse in this offense.
KC- last appearance #6 in 2010 (1st rd)   (key wins- HM,TS,CO /key losses IP, BE, HM)
HM- last appearance #3 in 2010 (CHAMP)  (key wins- TS,BM, KC /key losses BE, KC, CO, IP)

2012 Winners - Congrats from the commish, bravo, good job and well done.
As stated before, nothing will be paid until the season is over and all stats are final.  Unfortunately for you all the commish will be not be in Vegas for the holidays and will not be returning until Mid-January. And with the start of the spring semester, I will be pretty tied up.  We should get together for Super Bowl (Sunday, Feb 3rd)  and do the flask presentation and payouts then.
